Indicators for monitoring health, development and well-being of Australia's children
Indrani Pieris, Australian Institute of Health & Welfare
Meredith Bryant, Australian Institute of Health & Welfare
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare have developed a set of indicators to assess how Australian Children are doing in the areas of health, development and wellbeing. These indicators form the basis for regular reporting on the progress of Australia's children. There has been two previous publications largely focussing on indicators of health risk factors and health outcomes for children. This publication will be expanded to include family influences on health and wellbeing, educational outcomes for children, children as victims of assault, abuse and neglect, and homeless children etc.
